Course Description: The student will attend all pediatric endocrine clinics at the two main sites (UC Irvine Medical Center and MCH). At these clinics, the student will take an initial history and perform a physical exam, present to the attending at that clinic, and assist in forming treatment, laboratory test and follow up plans. The student will attend noontime pediatric conferences and pediatric grand rounds. At the conclusion of the rotation, the student will make a brief presentation on a topic of chosen interest with review of the literature.

Recommended Readings:
Official Grading Policy: The student will receive a grade of Honors, Pass or Fail. The student's final grade will be submitted on the standard UC IRvine elective form. The student will be evaluated by attendings and residents in the area of clinical performance, clinical skills, formal presentation, learning accomplishments, attendance, attitude and effort. The student will be provided with midcourse feedback by the attending. If the student fails the elective a grade of "F" will be permanently recorded on his/her transcript. The student can repeat the course for a second grade, however, the "F" will not be removed from the transcript.

Prerequisites: UC Irvine students must have successfully completed the basic science curriculum. Extramural students must be in their final year of undergraduate medical education. All students must get prior approval for all CHOC based rotations.
