UCI MedAcademy is a five-day experience designed to introduce high school students to medical careers and broaden students’ understanding of the healthcare field. UCI MedAcademy is open to high school students (including 2021 graduates) ages 15-19. Participants must be at least 15 years of age by the first day of the session they plan to attend.

Session 1: June 14-18

Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, the UCI School of Medicine cannot have students on campus for the 2021 summer academies. Our virtual UCI MedAcademy is a one-week (Mon-Fri) half-day experience from approximately 9AM-1PM daily. While we are continuing to develop our virtual curriculum, we anticipate our MedAcademy Scholars will take part in a variety of activities including:
March 5, 2021: Applications Open
April 1, 2021: Application Deadline
May 3, 2021: Acceptance Notifications
Cost: $700 due within two weeks of notification of acceptance into UCI MedAcademy.
Letters of Recommendation: Not required for the 2021 UCI Virtual MedAcademy
Transcripts: Submit a copy of an unofficial transcript to MedAcademy@uci.edu by the application deadline. Please write “Transcript for MedAcademy Application” in the subject line of the email.
UCI is committed to ensuring that all students have the opportunity to become a MedAcademy Scholar. Partial and full scholarships are available to students with financial hardship. Scholarship applications will be sent via email to students who request financial assistance when submitting their MedAcademy application.
